SWISS PROFILE's strengths

Swiss Profile is the only producer of precision tubes and profiles in Asia, with a parent company in Europe that enables it to offer a wide range of engineering and metallurgical skills and expertise. This complementarity offers Asian flexibility and responsiveness combined with European innovation and development capacity, enabling the creation of production transfers with the support of its certified laboratory in Switzerland. The solutions offered by Swiss Profile are PX Group solutions. With 25 years’ experience in Asia, Swiss Profile has developed a production capacity of 400t per year, enabling it to position itself in more competitive, higher-volume industrial markets.

Watchmaking

Thanks to its know-how and capacity for innovation, the company has developed a network of reliable partners and loyal customers in the watchmaking industry. While guaranteeing the required quality, the company is able to anticipate customer needs and assist them in the creation and design of semi-finished components.

Active on the South-East Asian markets for over 25 years, Swiss Profile produces profiles and bars (round or shaped, ground or rough-rolled) for various subcontractors in the watchmaking industry, mainly for the manufacture of bracelets, buttons and push-pieces.

Medical

At the heart of an industrial area where electronics and medical technology rub shoulders, Swiss Profile is present alongside manufacturers of medical devices and equipment who develop solutions for cutting-edge markets. The healthcare sector demands superior overall performance through reliable, long-lasting standard or customized equipment.

In this context, Swiss Profile offers a range of products designed in close collaboration with its customers, in the fields of endoscopy, biopsy, traumatology (prostheses, trauma plates), orthodontics, respiratory assistance, hearing aids, dentistry and blood treatment. Tubes, profiles, billets, bars, components or small wires: all Swiss Profile’s know-how is at the service of this medical technology industry.

Automation

Many applications require a system to be set in motion, whether rotary or linear, with variable angles and strokes and precise positioning. Linear motion is ensured by the combination of a drive element (pneumatic, hydraulic or electric) and a guide element (rail, linear bearing, shaft, slide). For more than 20 years, Swiss Profile has been offering a wide range of solutions for the most demanding manufacturers of linear motion systems in a variety of applications.

Over the years, Swiss Profile has specialized in the production of guide rails, ball tracks, treads, tubes and rods for pneumatic cylinders, as well as inductive sensors. These products are designed for general automation applications or for specific applications, with the aim of understanding needs and providing an innovative, high-performance customized solution. The automation market is very demanding, requiring extreme precision in all the elements required for movement. Precision and dimensional stability, as well as surface finish and hardness, are therefore major characteristics that Swiss Profile masters.

Location

Swiss Profile is PX Group’s production site in Penang, north-west Malaysia. The building comprises a 3500 m2 production area in the heart of a free port industrial zone, 10 kilometers from Penang seaport and 30 kilometers from Penang international airport. The nearby freeway provides fast, direct access to its strategic logistics points. South-East Asia is a very dynamic region with a very good network of skills in all industrial fields, which enables Swiss Profile to be agile and responsive, both in process and product development and in sourcing of all kinds.

The company has its own stock of raw materials from European sources qualified by PX Group and customers. Swiss Profile has built its reputation as a reliable producer of robust solutions thanks to this recognized supply chain of quality materials and the proximity of international logistics infrastructures. This reliability is also based on short delivery times, since production can start as soon as the order is placed.

Manufacturing process

The company offers its customers key benefits such as extremely short production lead times, customized design engineering, high production discretion, reduced manufacturing costs and optimized raw material utilization. We use a variety of cold-working processes, such as rolling, drawing and stamping, to shape our profiles and tubes to the dimensional tolerances and characteristics required by our customers.

In metallurgy, heat treatment plays an important role in transforming the characteristics of alloys. Thanks to its various furnaces, Swiss Profile masters all annealing, hardening and tempering processes for hardenable stainless steel alloys, producing profiles and tubes with smooth, shiny finishes.

Swiss Profile also has numerous cutting and finishing facilities to manufacture components from its profiles and tubes produced from bars. Component production also favors 100% automatic control, guaranteeing excellent product reliability.
