At the EPHJ in Geneva, held from June 4th to 7th, 2025, we had the pleasure of reuniting with our partners and clients to discuss future projects and reinforce our shared commitments. A key focus was the continued development of PX Impact® funds and our collective efforts to drive positive, tangible change. Supporting concrete actions that create a meaningful impact is a priority for us, and we are deeply convinced that this is the right path forward.

Words from Luis Leon, Head of Fidamar, the NGO in Peru:

My recent trip to Switzerland was a truly enriching experience. It gave me the opportunity not only to better understand PX Group’s culture and vision, but also to fully grasp the virtuous cycle of the PX Impact® initiative – a cycle that begins in Peru, alongside our communities, travels to Switzerland through the companies that finance it, and then returns in the form of concrete social impact projects for those same communities.

I was glad to see that the genuine commitment to the development of artisanal mining communities in Peru is shared across the entire PX Group ecosystem, including its strategic partners and clients. I can say that all the work we do in Peru – bringing education and healthcare to those who need it most – has real and meaningful support from Switzerland.

I was also warmly and professionally welcomed by the PX Group and GEIF teams, which made me feel at home despite the distance. We shared FIDAMAR’s progress with various stakeholders and future plans in Peru – conversations that were truly meaningful to me.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Philippe Chave and Christophe Nicolet from PX Group and Claire Froté from GEIF – Global Ecosystem Impact Fondation. I’m looking forward to the upcoming projects we plan to realize in the months to come.

Words from Mrs Claire Froté, Secretary-General of the GEIF’s foundation in Switzerland:

The GEIF Foundation, established in 2024, aims to create positive impacts by supporting concrete and coherent actions. To this end, GEIF manages the PX Impact® initiative, which is financed by PX Impact® premiums derived from the purchase of ASM (Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining) gold. The fund supports projects that directly benefit miners and their communities in the countries of extraction, through local NGOs.

In this context, it is essential to understand the realities on the ground, just as it is fundamental to grasp the expectations and challenges of the sector. With this in mind, the foundation organized several meetings during the EPHJ (Geneva trade show) to help connect key stakeholders such as NGOs (like Fidamar), refiners (such as PX Précinox), and of course, clients. Without these exchanges, support efforts cannot fully realize their potential. It is indeed crucial to raise awareness and foster unity. The presence of Luis Leon, Head of Fidamar, enabled a form of “remote immersion” by providing insight into the realities faced by mining communities – men, women, and children – in Peru. Our partners also had the opportunity to share their visions and expectations.

It is also in this spirit of sharing and commitment that GEIF will travel to Peru in September. This will be an opportunity to fully assess the actions undertaken and to plan the next steps.
