Multi-metal tubes and profiles

The cored tube offers an undeniably original solution. This product consists of a precious alloy tube filled with a steel, titanium or copper alloy core. The cross-section can be round or shaped, according to the customer’s requirements. Cold-drawing obtains a surface finish ready for final polishing.

In addition to the high-quality finish, the complex cored tube incorporates functional geometric requirements and reduces the weight of precious metals. Hence insert-based stainless steel tubes have become a must in bracelet link production.

Filled tubes with copper inserts are used for making precision components: after machining, the insert can be chemically removed by PX Précinox.

Further information

Precious-metal tubes and non precious-metal inserts are produced by PX Group.

All our shaping tools are designed and produced in-house. We develop our alloys and processes in close collaboration with our R&D laboratory.
(*) Precious metals control legislation recognizes a superior quality, i.e. top-grade, when the thickness reaches at least 200 µm, and authorizes an indication of the standard if the thickness reaches at least 500 µm.
