New range of tools for machining Grade 5 Titanium profiles
For the past 25 years, annual demand for titanium has been growing at between 5% and 10% a year. A rising star and an alternative to stainless steel that is attracting growing interest from industry, titanium stands out for its particularly interesting technical and mechanical characteristics. PX Precimet SA specializes in the manufacture of profiles in various titanium alloys. A range of tools for easy machining of Grade 5 Titanium
Drawing on its heritage of over 6 decades as a precision toolmaker and its long experience in working with various titanium alloys, PX Tools SA has developed a new range of cutting tools with its latest-generation carbide grades, enabling it to machine grade 5 titanium profiles. The technicality of its geometries and coatings is adapted to the dimensions of the tools in order to facilitate the machinability of titanium:
- Below Ø1mm: RV48 coating, good resistance to heat and oxidation.
- Above Ø1mm: RV36 coating, with cutting edge preparation to improve service life.
