Did you know that PX Précinox has more than 700 alloy compositions in its catalogue? Every year, more than 200 different alloys are produced and delivered to its customers.

This impressive number illustrates the talent of the PX Group teams in transforming customer needs into alloys that can be delivered in various forms of semi-finished products.

Classic compositions can be delivered with different sources of precious metals that are strictly segregated in our production flows: RJC, PX Impact®, ASM artisanal gold and, very soon, gold and copper from e-waste, for example.

We also develop custom alloys at our customers’ request. Come and see us with a specific requirement: a colour, a property, a desire, an antique piece to reproduce. We will translate your request into alloy compositions, colour coordinates or mechanical properties. We always take into account the titration and refining aspects, which are very important stages in the life of a precious metal alloy. Our alloy creation process often begins with an R&D Metallurgy mandate: project managers will carry out test castings in their laboratory foundry. The different compositions will then be characterised according to your requirements (microstructure, mechanical properties, work hardening). The next step is usually to deliver a few pieces for characterisation at your premises, after which the alloy can be commercially created, delivered, assayed and recycled by PX Précinox.

Some compositions developed in-house are protected by Swiss patents in order to guarantee exclusivity for our customers.

Some special alloys developed in recent months for our partners:

  • Bronze alloy made from brass boat parts
  • Alloy with the colour rendering of a historic building.
  • Scratch-resistant amorphous alloy based on palladium.
  • Gold alloy and silver alloy with a vintage colour.

We strive to enhance your watches and jewellery to make them even more desirable.
