The new range of upsetting taps presented by PX Tools SA is a small revolution in itself. The future benchmark in thread forming, STORM carbide taps were born in La Chaux-de-Fonds from the combined strengths and talents of our R&D teams and those of Xactform SA, the threading specialist.

Exclusive geometry adapts to the most difficult materials

The exclusive geometry of the new range adapts equally well to soft materials (gold, silver, copper and lead-free materials) and to the most difficult materials (steel, stainless steel, titanium).

A true ally for precision tapping, STORM carbide taps feature a special RV55 coating that has already satisfied more than 10,600 M1.4 taps on 20 pitches per hole in 316L stainless steel. The new range pushes back the limits and optimizes the results of deformation tapping. The hardening of the material makes the threads more resistant on the parts, while allowing clean, chip-free operation.

STORM taps are available for the Horlogère standard from pitch S0.4 to S0.9 and for the metric standard from M1 to M6.
