We are pleased to announce the appointment of Silke Prades-Rödel to our R&D team as Head of the Metallurgy R&D Department.
Silke has been with PX Group since 2010. She initially held the position of R&D Project Manager, then Head of Metallurgy R&D Project Managers. She is now responsible for the Metallurgy R&D Project Managers as well as the team of technicians in the metallurgy laboratory. This laboratory is STS ISO 17025 accredited.
Silke Prades-Rödel is succeeding Andreas Blatter, who is retiring after almost 30 years with PX Group, passing the torch to our Metallurgy R&D team with a smooth transition. Since July 2025, Andreas has remained with the team as Senior R&D Project Manager on a 50% basis until the end of the year and will then remain available on call for specific, one-off assignments for our group.
Silke Prades-Rödel is a mechanical engineer and completed her education with a PhD in Physical Chemistry of Materials. She has 25 years of experience in the field of materials, specifically in metallurgy.
Her diverse background, in-depth expertise and knowledge of PX Group will help keep the metallurgy R&D team at the forefront of innovation, both internally and in serving external customers. We are confident that she will be able to develop the R&D team and meet the challenges of innovation and improvement that lie ahead.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Andreas Blatter for his commitment to PX Group over the years. Andreas has been behind several scientific collaboration programs and numerous innovations that have enabled our group to progress by developing new differentiating assets with an exemplary level of innovation.
We wish Silke every success in her new role and Andreas a long and well-deserved retirement!
