Continuously committed to innovation and the mastery of advanced materials, PX Group is further developing applications based on metallic glasses and establishing industrial-scale production of semi-finished products, with the ambition of delivering solutions tailored to market needs.

Metallic glasses (MGs) are amorphous metals with no crystalline structure. Unlike conventional metallic alloys, whose atoms are arranged in an ordered crystalline lattice, metallic glasses exhibit a disordered atomic structure achieved through extremely rapid cooling from the molten state. To the naked eye, they resemble conventional metals; the term “glass” refers to their distinctive atomic structure.

Unique Properties for High-Precision Industries

This amorphous structure endows metallic glasses with outstanding characteristics, making them particularly suited to demanding applications and high-precision industries:

  • High hardness and excellent mechanical strength
  • Exceptional elasticity, enabling unprecedented reversible deformation
  • Superior brilliance, ideal for fine jewellery, watchmaking and luxury leather goods
  • Enhanced resistance to scratches, wear and corrosion
Leveraging its unique expertise, PX Precinox is now the world’s leading producer of precious metallic glasses, with flagship alloys such as 0863 (Pd500) and 0962 (Pt850). These innovative solutions enable our clients to push the boundaries of design, while benefiting from significantly improved wear and scratch resistance compared to traditional alloys.
